Red Blood, Blue Heart – Run Lucky Free
We ran around holding hands,
Playing cowboys and Indians,
Playing silly games.
And we watched as the sand slipped through our hands,
like a friendship fades.
My blood is red,
My heart is blue,
There you go like a beat,
Just passing on through.
My blood is red,
My heart is blue,
I am me, and you are you.
And we danced to sounds,
colourblind stepping in time with the lights,
and I grew up, you just grew tall,
nothing in common at all, nothing in common at all.
Your warm hands would touch my back,
caress me and kiss my neck,
in my thinnest dress.
And you’d whisper hidden blues,
deepest darkest cryptic truths,
my hearts cold for you.
Run a little further,
stumble and the cold ground will swallow you,
my blood is black my heart is true,
not for you though, no not for you.
And we danced to sounds,
colourblind stepping in time with the lights,
and I grew up, you just grew tall,
nothing in common at all, nothing in common at all.

Run/Lucky/Free created their music from quaint practice rooms near the River Forth to rehearsal spaces in the heart of the
city of Edinburgh. They moulded diverse influences together to create a style of Indie Pop that would confound standard 4/4 balladry with interesting instrumentation and the occasional odd time signature.
Now gone their separate ways the band lasted from 2009 until 2013....more
